iQoo 10 Pro, launched in July last year, became the first smartphone from the company to offer 200W fast charging support. It packed a 4,700mAh battery. Its successor, the iQoo 11 Pro also offered similar battery specifications. The company has also introduced support for 200W fast charging this year on iQoo 11S, which comes with a 4,600mAh battery. However, it is now being reported that the company could launch the upcoming iQoo 12 Pro with only 120W fast charging speed. While the charging speed is suggested to be reduced, the company could rather focus on packing a bigger battery.
According to a post by tipster DigitalChatStation on Chinese social platform Weibo, iQoo’s parent Vivo has decided to put a hold on providing 200W fast charging support to smartphones. The company is said to instead work to manufacture smartphones with 120W or 100W fast charging speed, but with up to 6,000mAh battery.
While both the iQoo 10 Pro and iQoo 11 Pro feature 200W fast charging speed, the upcoming iQoo 12 Pro and iQoo 12 will reportedly get 120W fast charging, with 50W wireless charging support on the Pro version. However, the company may improve battery capacity for both the upcoming handsets. According to recent leaks, the iQOO 12 could house a 5,000mAh battery, while the Pro version is expected to pack a 5,100mAh battery.
The iQoo 12 series is expected to launch on November 7. Previous reports have suggested the specifications and the colour options of the upcoming smartphones. Both handsets are said to launch in black, red, and white colour options.
In terms of battery, the iQoo 12 has been previously tipped to feature a 4,880mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Both handsets are said to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
